About Newhaven Marina
Clear entry on Channel 12. A working port and fishing harbour but a friendly spot with a marina. Harbour is a useful stopover and accessible at all states of tide with no lock. In a strong Easterly it is accessible unlike both Eastbourne and Brighton. Reasonable and clean facilities despite their ageing appearance. Nice beaches for dog walking. Town centre a bit light but local Sainsburys superstore in retail park area is good for most needs anyway. A small Coop nearby, a couple of ok pubs as well. Well worth a visit if you prefer a quieter spot than Brighton. Presently undergoing a revamp of the pontoons but a limited number of visitors berths remain available.
